What do we offer?

Anchovy in spice sauce
A product made from sprat fillets (sprattus sprattus) that have been salted together with a special mixture of spices which brightly highlight the taste nuances of the Nordic countries. In the tomato and spice sauce there are recognisable flavours of cardamom and ginger that together with cinnamon create a harmonious Scandinavian bouquet of flavours. The sprat fillets obtain their pink colour from redwood that has been added to the mixture of spices. The removal of skin from the sprat fillets ensures an excellent taste experience.
Ingredients: skinless sprat fillets 65%, water, sugar, salt, tomato paste, acidity regulators (acetic acid, citric acid), spices and herbs, preservative (E211).
Excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids

Herring rolls in marinade
The product is made from quality Baltic Herring fillets (clupea harengus membras) that have been marinated in a classical vinegar marinade. Vinegar is being balanced by adding sugar to the marinade, giving the whole product a distinct Nordic feel. The Baltic Herring fillets have been rolled up which makes for very convenient serving. The taste nuances of allspice and mustard seeds, complemented by the onion and carrot serve to elevate the product further.
Ingredients: Baltic Herring fillet, water, sugar, salt, dried onion, carrot, acidic regulators (acetic acid, citric acid), allspice, mustard seeds, preservative (E211).

What is the difference between anchovy and anchovy?
The well-kept secret of the Nordic "anchovy"
In Estonia, Finland, Sweden and Denmark alike anchovy (ansjovis in Scandinavia) is known as the product made from the small sardine-like sprat (sprattus sprattus) and not from the genuine anchovy (engraulis encrasicholus) – a fact that may confuse many foreigners trying to decipher Nordic recipes.
The spiced sprat fillets have a very soft and tender, melt-in-the-mouth texture and a distinctive piquant flavour – both differing greatly from those of real canned anchovy fillets.
Sprat is commonly used in Nordic dishes and there are numerous recipes like that. Most popular are canned sprats and preserves from freshly-caught and marinated raw fish. In the Nordic countries types of sprat fillets canned in a sugar and spice brine are used to flavour many local dishes (like the Swedish potato gratin dish “Jansson’s temptation”).
Don’t let yourself be discouraged by the “anchovy” title. The anchovy that usually makes people grimace in pop culture is a completely different animal – or well, fish. Our sweet-spicy product will make every fish aficionado smile.

What makes us tick?
Why choose us
There are many advantages to hand cutting and packaging that should definitely be considered
Cutting by hand
Hand filleting does not harm the fillet as much as machine filleting. The sprat fillet will get bruised and will start to extract protein into the tin when machines are used. This will be evident after opening the tin, because there will be white substance coating the marinade and fillets. In addition it severely influences the expiration date and longevity of the quality.
Packaging by hand
The benefits of hand packing the fillets into the tins is that the fillets are neatly and compactly packed every time. This makes it so the fillets do not shake inside the tins when transporting the product. The sprat fillet is so tender that it would start to break up when shaken, which hand packaging prevents. When not packed correctly the product will not look like sprat fillets when opened.
Long lasting quality
By hand filleting and packing we can guarantee that there will be no bones attached to the fillets, and that the expiration date will be at least 1 year in the right temperature. What's more important - the product is always visually striking and the contents of all tins is identical.
Good for your health
Do not overlook the benefit of these tiny fish. They benefit the circulatory, nervous, skeletal, reproductive and digestive systems, not to mention improvements in the appearance of hair and skin and an increase in joint comfort. They also boost brain health and lower the levels of bad cholesterol in the organism.
A longer and healthier life
Sprats are considered extremely useful for people with heart disorders due to the high content of fatty acids. Reap the health benefits of the fish as well as the Omega-3 fatty acids in the oil.
